Versatile Blogger Award

What's up, my people?

April is ending and May is beginning, and that means, season finales of shows are coming and summer school is approaching. But that's besides the point for today's post, anyways, I'm happy to announce that I have been nominated by three kickass people, Jenny, Nicole Marie and Taylor for this award! So thank-you, to the both of them, and check out their blogs, you guys!

What are the Rules?
1. Thank the person who nominated you.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself
3. Nominate 15 other blogs.

Since I've been nominated twice, I will share 14 facts about myself, so be prepared!٩(•̤̀ᵕ•̤́๑)ᵒᵏᵎᵎᵎᵎ
(I realized I've been nominated three times, after completing this post :o so I won't be sharing 21 facts with you guys xD)

Facts about me
1) I absolutely have no selfies of myself, all the way up until last yearI'm quite a shy person, so I actually have no pictures of myself from high school or elementary school, since I hated taking pictures (●//////●). But, ever since I got tumblr and instagram, I have been a camwhore. I love taking pictures of myself. Plus, my 2014 resolution was to take selfies of myself daily, (I know, probably the weirdest and vainest resolution someone could think of, hahaha). To prove my point....here are some selfies!

2) I used to be ambidextrous - When I was little, my dominant writing hand was my right hand, but when I saw my older sister write with her left hand, I wanted to do the same, since I basically idolized her back in the day. So for a few years I could easily switch hands and still write, but now, my main writing hand is my left side.

3) I had different types of pets growing up - Actually, I should consider myself very lucky, as I know a few of my friends never had any pets growing up. I had goldfishes when I was four up until, I was eleven. A few years later I got a hamster, (RIP Cinnamon) and now I have a dog, for the last three years of my life.
4) Ironically enough...I got my dog from another beauty/lifestyle blogger - She's a popular gyaru blogger from Vancouver, BC. I really like her posts, they're fun to read and are very detailed.

5) I live in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada - Which just has to be the second most expensive city to live in....FML. (⓪益⓪) However, I don't see myself living there for the rest of my life, I plan on moving to somewhere else in Canada or the United States.

6) Currently, I'm studying Health Sciences and Psychology - Although, throughout my years of college, I've been changing my career path. I wanted to study nursing. but then I went back to health sciences, and now I'm going into psychology, since I don't find health science as interesting as before. However, I feel/know I'm going to change what I'm studying again, because I'm slowly feel like my energy is being drained from school. So for now, I have my eye on an image and style consultant certificate and/or cosmetology/hair design diploma too.

7) I get emotionally attach to shows very easily - Yep, if I get invested into a show that I really like. I will feel for the characters if something good or bad something happens to them. One perfect example, is Grey's Anatomy, and OH MY GOD, last week's episode man, ughhhh. I'm not going to say what happened, just in case people haven't seen it yet, but I have no words, just tears.

8) Speaking of shows, I'm a huge reality show junkie - I started watching Survivor when I was 7, which absolutely got me hooked into reality shows. I'm a sucker for them, (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑ my guilty pleasures are Big Brother and the Bachelor/Bachelorette.
9) I love Youtube - In fact, when it came out, 10 years ago, I made a comedy video. Sometimes I wondered how it would have turned out if I stayed committed. And three years later, I tried to dedicate my channel as a beauty one, but never got through to it. Right now, I just watch beauty gurus, documentaries and sitcoms.

10) I'm still mad and disappointed at the Naruto ending - I know, I know, it's been MONTHS, since the ending came out, but I can't help but feel the way I do. This whole franchise has been part of my life for 9 years, and to be given that ending, ughh, it's hard to accept. And to clarify, it's not because of the couples that I like, did not become "canon" (that's what my friend said to me, and it pissed me off),it's because of the plot holes and how the characters that I basically grew up with, became out of character.

11) The very first korean drama that I watched was "Cinderella's Sister" -  It aired during my high school days xD so I would watch it whenever I had a free block or right after school. I still have all the OST music on my phone.
12) I absolutely love wearing thigh/knee high socks, skirts and dresses - They're just my go-to style items and make everything so much more cuter and girlier. It's funny though, because back in the days of high school, I never wore any dresses, skirts or knee/thigh highs since back then, I didn't really give a shit, what I wore. If you look onto the right, you can see prime examples of my outfit style on my instagram and lookbook account.

13) I collect anything thats Hello Kitty - All my life I had some item with me that was Hello Kitty, because my Aunt collects them and gave me items of it, when I was young. That being said, I went through an obsession stage, when I saw anything that had Hello Kitty on it, I had to buy it.
14) I'm a very short person in real life, I'm exactly 5'0" - I've always been the shortest person in my class, which did make me self-conscious for years, as many people, teased me about it, but eventually I grew to accept it, since I believe petite equals cute, and I like anything cute. ٩(◕‿◕。)۶

If you got through all those facts, I applaud you, haha. I haven't read around that much these days, so I won't nominate 15 blogs. Also I apologize in advance if you have been already nominated and done the versatile blog post.

I Nominate:
Alyss
Jessie
Lisa
Lora
Nicole Marie
Pochu
Theresa

Too Faced: Brow Envy Kit Preview

Hello everybody! (*´・v・)

It's mid April and finals are almost done for me, hooray! I previously wrote a couple of finals, although, truthfully, I'm not feeling that confident for one of the finals I just wrote last week (╭╮). Seriously, it's probably due to the fact that I have a horrible habit of procrastination to study and even now, despite having an upcoming final, I'm here writing a blog post, which proves my horrible habit.

For this post, I'm excited to show you guys a preview and a look at of Too Faced's Brow Envy Kit. I got this from Nordstrom Rack's when I went to Portland with a close friend, a few months ago, since I need help maintaining the shape of my eyebrows, hahaha. (╹◡╹)

I haven't used the set yet, so this won't serve as a review, but more as a preview, to show what the set contains. As a warning or a heads up, this post will be obviously, picture-heavy!

Overall preview for the set.
At the back of the product, the description says:
"Be envied for your gorgeous brows with "Brow Envy", Too Faced's fool-proof kit that will have you arched, defined and framed like a star! Stop dreaming about having celebrity styled brows; have them! You'll be the envy of the A-List!"

First of, what I really like about the product, besides the colour of the packaging, hehe, was the fact that the overall package was adorable. The kit itself, is quite small, which is another factor I like about, since it carries numerous items within it, that I will go in further detail.

Pictorial instructions.
When you open the kit, the very first thing that comes up, are the instructions, which also have pictures, (thank-you!) that is super helpful, since I'm not the best, at shaping my eyebrows.

The instructions are:
1. Select the stencil shape that best defines you.
2. Combine the powder shades to match your desired brow color and fill in stencil
3. Tweeze the hairs outside the stenciled area.
4. Apply the brow wax with brush to set hairs and powder for perfectly set brows.
5. Use the pencil to create the perfect arch and tail for brows.
6. Finally, apply the highlighter under arch and blend outward for an instant eye lift.

Details of the products in the kit.
The very top layer of kit, contains four circular quads, a setting wax, a highlighter and two powders: a blonde brow powder and a brunette brow powder.

Closeup of the tools that were included.
The tools that came with the kit were:
a) Eyebrow angled brush - To apply the powder on
b) Miniature spooly - To comb the eyebrows, to make it look neater
c) Tweezers - To pull out excess eyebrow hair, making the eyebrow shape look cleaner.

Stencils and eyebrow pencils.
So what also makes the packaging somewhat unique, is that under the top layer, there is a mini drawer that contains three different stencil shapes and small eyebrow pencil in dark brown.

 Femme Fatale.
 Girl Next Door.
Glamour Girl.
The size of eyebrow pencil, is smaller than the usual eyebrow pencil.
The eyebrow pencil comes in dark brown and a small sample size. From the kit, it was the only product that I used, since I swatched it. The product itself, is very smooth and soft, however, it also breaks easily, as after I used it, the tip immediately fell off.

Swatches of the eyebrow pencil.
To the left, I swatched the pencil twice, while to the right, I only swatched the eyebrow pencil once, hence the line being thinner and lighter.

Products that I use.
So the picture that you see above, are the products that I use currently for my eyebrows. The eyebrow pencil is from Joe Fresh, a Canadian company within the supermarket, Superstore, The colour that it is in is ash-brown. The eyebrow gel, is from the brand, Sonia Kashuk, which I got from Target, for really cheap, before it closed. (Oh, Target we hardly, knew ye!)

Daiso eyebrow pencils.
And of course, I went to Daiso a few weeks ago, and I picked up two eyebrow pencils, which I will review in a future post! The one on the left is in dark brown, while the other is just in brown.

On a side note, from my last post, I completed one of my monthly goals! :D I'm now an official tutor, and I will be teaching a learner how to read and write. I'm a bit nervous, since for me, it's a major position were it's a leadership position, as I've always been in the follower role. That being said, I'm excited to for this experience and hopefully I will find more volunteering opportunities!

Recent Buys ♡ // {Goals + Food Snaps}

First things first, how is it already April???

Seriously, the time has gone so quickly, especially this semester. Funnily enough, this week for me, is the last week and the last days of classes (hooray)! Though, the downside is that, this means that April is FINALS week. Which means, that I'm going to busy burying myself with papers, notes and coffee, and hopefully acing my finals. :/ So this means, that this post will be pretty long and picture-heavy, like the usual.

Anyways, if you have read or been following my blog, you might have known that I kind of have a shopping problem, especially when it comes to clothes, and surprise, surprise, this post, is going to mostly dedicated to my recent buys/haul.

And because I'm a such a shopaholic, the things you seen here, were actually bought around the beginning and the middle of March, and now that a month has passed, I actually have new clothing pieces that are currently tucked away. [☉。☉] (I need help!!!)

CLOSEUPS

DETAILS

All the items from Forever 21.
So these three items you see here, are all from Forever 21. What I got were:
1. T-Shirt // "No one is perfect"
2. Crop Top // "It's just that I literally do not care at all."
3. Acid-wear Jeans

A sweater and a necklace.
Closeup detail of the necklace.
I'm actually surprised I got these items because they are from H&M and I never find anything from that store. What I got were:
1. Salt & Pepper Sweater
2. Spiky Silver Necklace

Shoes from Ardene's.
So I know people give flak for Ardene's shoes, but I find them comfortable, they can easily be matched with outfits and best of all, they're very affordable. What I got were:
1. Gray Slips-Ons
2. Black Flat Runners

Surprisingly, from my haul, I didn't buy anything that's pink, whoa. From all of them my favourite item has to be my acid-wear jeans, since it's very comfortable and it's my very first one! :D (I know, I know, pretty sad.)

Goals, Goals & Goals

Since school has basically finished and after finals I have free time, I decided to make monthly goals for myself! :D

1. I need to get a job
-Like seriously, this way I won't feel guilty buying things, plus it will make me come out my shy shell that I have sadly reverted back to after I left my old job.

2. Try yoga for the first time
-I think it will be fun, plus it will help me learn how to become flexible and learn how to relax when I get anxious in situations.

3. Find volunteer opportunities
-New experiences, will help me grow and mature.

4. Attend classes that will help me lead to finding my career path
-This is so important because honestly, what I'm studying (health science & psychology), I can't even picture myself having a career in the fields. Don't get me wrong, I find the subjects that I learn fascinating/interesting, but as a lifelong career? I'm too sure.

5. Do something new
-Anything really, I need to venture out more.

6. Learn how to put eyeshadow on
-Hahaha, I really need to learn how to, because I want to learn how to create other makeup looks.

Of course, no blog post of mine is completed without Food Snaps

Seafood Udon at Bubble World!!!

Milk Tea Bubble Tea :)

Fries with omelette and bacon :A:

Salmon with rice from Denny's.

Hopefully, I will be able to update more in this month, but I'm not too sure, since my finals are spreaded out pretty evenly for once.

As well, I know my blog posts has tended to sway away from just being a "beauty blog", but I like adding other segments to it, like lifestyle touches, hahaha, to me, it makes it so much more personable.

I'm going to end this post off with my favourite song at the moment, enjoy! :3

Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do
